Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla urged Democrats to select a moderate candidate to beat former president Donald Trump. Elon Musk defended Trump, sparking a heated exchange with Khosla over potential candidates like Kamala Harris and Governors Whitmer, Shapiro, and Beshear. Musk fully endorsed Trump and has been praised by the former president. Khosla, a Democratic donor, criticized Trump’s values and policies.

Khosla and Musk engaged in a Twitter debate over Trump’s flaws and the merits of the Republican Party. Khosla emphasized the importance of climate action and individual freedoms. Musk highlighted the need for a more meritocratic administration. Khosla also stressed the significance of values and morals in the era of AI acceleration.

Musk did not respond to Khosla’s question about subverting democracy on Jan 6. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has not publicly commented on Biden’s decision. Musk shared how White House aides learned of Biden’s decision via X, which received over 289 million views. Musk also mentioned that his “smartest friends” support Trump/Vance, prompting a response from Yann LeCun.
