The X community is abuzz with speculation after Elon Musk’s X platform removed the Bitcoin hashmoji, confirmed by an X team member. DogeDesigner revealed that only the Bitcoin hashtag is now visible, sparking confusion among crypto enthusiasts.

Despite removing Bitcoin hashmojis, Tesla still retains $184 million worth of BTC on its balance sheet, according to Q1 2024 earnings report. Musk’s company made headlines by initially purchasing $1.5 billion in Bitcoin and accepting BTC payments for its electric vehicles, driving the cryptocurrency to new highs.

Contrary to speculation, Elon Musk has clarified that X and his other companies have no plans to launch their own cryptocurrency. While X has been busy securing licenses for internal payments, Musk’s stance remains firm on not creating a proprietary coin.
