Tesla’s shares dropped 4.7% after second-quarter earnings missed estimates, with earnings per share at 52 cents, falling short of the expected 62 cents. Revenue was slightly higher at $25.5 billion. Meanwhile, Alphabet slipped 1% despite beating earnings and revenue estimates, with $1.89 per share on $84.74 billion in revenue.
Visa saw shares dip over 2% after reporting revenue slightly below forecasts at $8.9 billion in the fiscal third quarter. Seagate’s shares surged over 6% following an earnings and revenue beat in the fiscal fourth quarter, citing an improving cloud environment for its performance. Capital One Financial’s shares fell 1% as profit dropped from a year ago.
Texas Instruments saw a 5% rally after recording better-than-expected earnings of $1.22 per share. Mattel advanced 1% after exceeding earnings estimates at 19 cents per share. Cal-Maine Foods’ shares fell 1% due to the avian flu outbreak impact in the fiscal fourth quarter. Enphase Energy’s shares rose 5% despite weaker second-quarter results.
Chubb gained nearly 1% in the second quarter with adjusted earnings per share at $5.38, surpassing the consensus estimate of $5.14 per share. FactSet data and analyst predictions are consistent with these financial reports.
