Google has updated its policy to ensure apps on the Play Store meet higher standards for functionality and user engagement. The tech giant stresses the importance of providing stable, responsive, and engaging experiences for users. Apps that do not meet these criteria will be removed effective August 31.

Alphabet Inc.’s Google has announced stricter guidelines for apps on its Play Store, targeting those with minimal functionality or poor user experiences. Apps like text-only or unresponsive apps will be removed. Google blocked 2.28 million apps last year for policy violations, prioritizing user security.
