Vanguard Australian Shares ETF (VAS) reaches all-time high as ASX and major stocks perform well.

The ASX has seen a series of new record highs, with the Vanguard Australian Shares ETF reaching all-time highs. The ETF opened at $99.60 this morning, nearly hitting $100. It is currently at $99.94, up 0.98%. The ASX 300 Index has also reached new highs, up 1.02% at 8,015.8 points.

The VAS ETF mirrors the ASX 300 Index, which tracks the largest 300 stocks on the ASX by market capitalization. Today, the ASX’s VAS ETF and the ASX 300 are setting new records with the performance of their mutual underlying holdings driving the highs. Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the largest stock on the ASX 300 Index, hit a new record high of $133.50 a share.

Other major ASX stocks, like BHP Group Ltd and CSL Ltd, are also performing well. The four major banks and CSL are contributing to the new record high for the Vanguard Australian Shares ETF. VAS units have a year-to-date gain of 6.04%, with a 10.4% rise over the past 12 months. Investors are eager to see if the ETF will finally hit a three-digit unit price.
