Meta has unveiled a new AI model, MobileLLM, designed for devices with limited computing power. Developed by Meta Reality Labs and FAIR, it has less than one billion parameters.

Yann LeCun highlighted the study’s key aspects, showing that prioritizing depth over width in smaller models enhances performance. MobileLLM surpasses previous models by 2.7 to 4.3 percent in benchmark tests.

MobileLLM excels in zero-shot commonsense reasoning, question answering, and reading comprehension tasks. It has also proven effective in chat and API calls, showcasing its versatility and efficiency.
