Japanese automakers Nissan and Honda are considering using standardized automotive software and collaborating on electric vehicle charging to reduce costs. They are looking to jointly develop the operating system for cars and boost charging infrastructure to increase competitiveness in the growing EV market. Both companies are open to cooperating in multiple areas globally. Nissan and Honda face increasing competition from Tesla and Chinese and South Korean automakers. They have been impacted in China by the popularity of low-priced EVs from Chinese brands like BYD.
