NVIDIA announced new advancements to OpenUSD, expanding its use in industrial design, engineering, and robotics. New generative AI models and microservices on the Omniverse platform enable developers to build virtual worlds and digital twins for AI and robotics applications. Major companies like Foxconn and WPP are already benefiting from this technology.

NVIDIA introduced the world’s first generative AI models for OpenUSD development, available as microservices. These models, like USD Code and USD Search, help developers automate tasks and enhance their 3D workflows. Companies like Foxconn and WPP are leveraging these microservices to create digital twins and improve their production pipelines.

New USD connectors for robotics data formats and streaming to Apple Vision Pro are now available, expanding the use of OpenUSD in various industries. Siemens is collaborating with NVIDIA to integrate OpenUSD into its Simcenter simulation technologies, offering real-time visualization of complex simulation data. The OpenUSD Exchange SDK allows developers to build their own data connectors.

NVIDIA and industry partners are pushing the growth of the OpenUSD ecosystem through new services and APIs. The AOUSD, founded by NVIDIA, Pixar, Apple, Adobe, and Autodesk, is driving progress in OpenUSD development. Developers can explore the latest in generative AI and accelerated computing at SIGGRAPH, where NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang is discussing the future of technology.
