The whistleblowers’ letter to the SEC emphasized that OpenAI’s agreements violate federal laws protecting whistleblowers from retaliation when reporting illicit activities.

OpenAI employees urge the SEC to investigate and request the company to disclose all employment and confidentiality agreements while upholding employees’ rights to file complaints confidentially and anonymously.

Attorney Stephen Kohn stresses the importance of employees speaking up to ensure AI technology is safe and in the public interest as OpenAI faces accusations of prioritizing profit over security.

Senator Chuck Grassley calls for OpenAI to change its nondisclosure agreements to allow whistleblowers the right to speak up and receive necessary compensation for their disclosures, emphasizing the need for transparency in the tech sector to address risks associated with AI technology.
