OpenAI's internal AI details stolen in 2023 breach, discussions on technologies compromised

A hacker breached OpenAI’s internal messaging systems and stole info on AI designs. Discussions on latest technologies were compromised, but AI systems were secure. OpenAI did not report the breach publically, as no customer/partner data was compromised. Federal agencies were not informed as the hacker seemed to have no foreign government ties.

OpenAI recently disrupted five covert influence operations using its AI models for deceptive activities. The Biden administration is considering safeguards for advanced AI models like ChatGPT to protect U.S. technology from China and Russia. 16 AI companies pledged to develop the technology safely amidst regulatory challenges and emerging risks.
