OpenAI is working on a new project, Strawberry, to bring advanced reasoning capabilities to AI models. The AI model could perform research and autonomously navigate the internet for deep research. Details about Strawberry are kept secret within OpenAI, aiming to improve AI reasoning over time. Strawberry is believed to be a renamed version of project Q.

OpenAI is facing criticism for allegedly silencing employees from reporting risks of their technology. Concerns were detailed in a seven-page letter sent to the SEC by a group of employees. This controversy comes as OpenAI reportedly showcased a model with “human-like” reasoning skills to employees, raising further questions about transparency.
