Despite restrictions in China, Microsoft will continue to offer Azure OpenAI services in Hong Kong. Reports suggest Microsoft receives a significant portion of OpenAI’s profits through this collaboration.

In China, OpenAI’s popular chatbot service ChatGPT is banned, reflecting the government’s strict control over information access. China has approved local language models to boost the AI industry, despite challenges posed by US chip restrictions.
