Sector Update: Financial Stocks Mixed Late Afternoon

Financial stocks saw mixed performance with the NYSE Financial Index slightly down and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund up 0.2%. The Philadelphia Housing Index fell 2.6% while the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund dropped 1.1%.

Bitcoin rose 1.1% to $63,332, and the 10-year US Treasuries yield increased by 14 basis points to 4.48%. The ISM US manufacturing index fell to 48.5 in June, below expectations, citing weak demand and output decline. US construction spending also declined by 0.1% in May.

The S&P Global US manufacturing index for June was revised downwards to 51.6, from 51.7 previously reported. In a Supreme Court ruling, the US president has presumptive immunity for official acts but not for unofficial actions. The decision relates to charges against Trump for his actions after the 2020 election.

Interactive Brokers shares surged 3.4% following a 26% increase in daily average revenue trades in June. Webster Financial and Marathon Asset Management are forming a private credit partnership, with Webster shares rising 1.6%. Coinbase shares jumped nearly 6% after landing a deal with the US Marshals Service for safeguarding and trading digital assets. Robinhood acquired Pluto Capital for an undisclosed sum, with shares showing a slight dip.
