Shutterstock introduces Generative 3D service in commercial beta, enabling designers to quickly create 3D assets and 360 HDRi backgrounds just by using text or image prompts. Getty Images upgrades Generative AI service to generate images twice as fast and with improved quality, offering advanced controls and customization options. Both services are powered by NVIDIA’s Edify and NIM technologies.

Shutterstock’s Generative 3D service allows designers to create 3D assets for virtual environments rapidly, providing a starting point for further customization. The AI model delivers previews of assets in as little as 10 seconds, allowing users to quickly generate high-quality 3D assets for their projects. The service will be demonstrated at SIGGRAPH conference with HP showcasing physical prototypes.

Virtual lighting becomes simpler with Shutterstock’s Generative 3D service as users can describe the environment they need and receive a high-dynamic-range panoramic image in 16K resolution. Three companies, including WPP and CGI studio Katana, plan to integrate the 360 HDRi APIs into their workflows. Designers can generate custom scenes with generative AI quickly and efficiently.

Generative AI by Getty Images receives an upgrade with a more powerful Edify AI model, allowing users to control image composition and style. The service is now twice as fast, produces higher quality images, and includes new controls for camera settings. Collaborations with companies like Omnicom aim to streamline workflows and create on-brand content using generative AI.

Both Generative AI services from Shutterstock and Getty Images are available for use, offering creators the ability to generate high-quality visual content with advanced customization options. Shutterstock’s service streamlines 3D asset creation for virtual environments, while Getty Images’ service focuses on image composition and style control for commercial use.
