Stocks ended lower due to global IT issues and decline in chip stocks

On Friday, the S&P 500 Index closed down -0.71%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index closed down -0.93%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index closed down -0.93%. Stock indexes finished lower, with the S&P 500 falling to a 2-1/2 month low.
