US hiring declined in June, with an increased unemployment rate. Shares of tech giants Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Amazon.com, and Apple spiked. Macy’s stock rose 10% amid a bid increase. Gold miner Newmont saw a 1.9% increase. Crude oil prices remained steady, with Brent crude at $87.51 and US WTI at $83.98. Gold prices surged to a monthly high, with spot gold at $2,371.58 per ounce and US gold futures at $2,379.70.
