Wall Street week ahead: Spotlight on Fed rate decision, jobs data, earnings from Apple, Meta Platforms, Amazon

Next week, Wall Street investors will focus on the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision and Chair Jerome Powell’s press conference, with the central bank expected to hold interest rates steady. Earnings reports from ‘Magnificent 7’ companies like Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Apple, and Amazon will also be in the spotlight. Economic data on non-farm payrolls and manufacturing PMI will provide further insight.

On July 30 and 31, reports on consumer confidence, job openings, ADP employment, Employment Cost Index, and Chicago Business Barometer will be released. August 1 and 2 will see data on US productivity, manufacturing PMI, ISM manufacturing, employment, and unemployment rates.

Earnings reports from companies like McDonald’s, Microsoft, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, Amazon, Apple, and Exxon Mobil are due in the upcoming week. US markets closed higher last week, with the S&P 500 gaining 1.11%, Nasdaq Composite gaining 1.03%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 1.66%. Treasury yields fell, while the US dollar, Brent crude, and gold prices fluctuated.
