Xbox Live outage lasted for nearly seven hours, resolved by Microsoft

On July 2, Xbox Live suffered a seven-hour outage, causing widespread connectivity issues for players. Microsoft resolved the issue at 8:49 p.m. ET, confirmed by the Xbox Support Twitter account. Downdetector recorded 32,222 reported problems, with 75% related to login, 21% to server connection, and 4% to gameplay.

The outage began at 2 PM ET, with error messages indicating “scheduled maintenance.” Xbox Support acknowledged disconnections and directed users to the Xbox status page, which reported a major outage of the “Account & profile” service. Users were warned about sign-in issues, disconnections, and related problems affecting games and apps.

Xbox Network faced significant attention for the recent outage, which had a widespread impact and took Microsoft hours to resolve. While past disruptions have occurred, this outage drew attention for its duration and scale of impact on players.
