Private packaged food giant Mars Inc is considering acquiring Pringles maker Kellanova, potentially one of the biggest deals in the food industry. Mars, known for brands like Snickers and M&M’s, is eyeing the $27 billion company. However, antitrust concerns may arise due to overlapping brands. Kellanova’s shares are trading at a discount compared to peers like Hershey and Mondelez. Investment firm TOMS Capital has also shown interest in Kellanova, aiming to enhance shareholder returns. If the deal goes through, it would be Mars’ largest acquisition since buying veterinary hospital chain VCA in 2017.
