Retail investors are becoming more pessimistic, with bearish sentiment rising, but bullish sentiment remaining high.

Pessimism among retail investors is rising, with bearish sentiment increasing by 3.3 percentage points to 27.0% in the latest AAII Sentiment Survey. Despite the uptick, bearish sentiment remains below the historical average of 31.0% for the third consecutive week. Bullish sentiment dipped slightly to 51.2%, still significantly above the historical average of 37.5%. Neutral sentiment dropped by 2.9 percentage points to 21.9%. The bull-bear spread narrowed to 24.2%, but remains well above the historical average of 6.5%. Additionally, most investors are skeptical about the sustainability of gold prices, with 29.7% expecting a decrease and 27.0% anticipating an increase.
