On August 18, 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto registered the Bitcoin.org domain, setting the stage for the birth of the world’s first decentralized cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a financial revolution that spread globally.

The Bitcoin.org domain became the core platform for Satoshi Nakamoto’s groundbreaking whitepaper, “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System,” released in October 2008. Even though Bitcoin officially launched in January 2009, the groundwork for this blockchain-based payment system was laid in 2008.

Despite Bitcoin’s tremendous success, the true identity of its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, remains shrouded in mystery. Speculations suggest Nakamoto may be a group of individuals, but no concrete evidence has surfaced to confirm this theory.

The FBI once stated that Satoshi Nakamoto could be “one or more third-party individuals,” but they have neither confirmed nor denied the true identity of the creator in response to inquiries from tech researcher Dave Troy. The enigmatic figure of Satoshi Nakamoto continues to intrigue and fascinate the technology and finance communities.
