Stocks surged after the release of positive jobs data which eased concerns about the US economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 449 points, the S&P 500 gained 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite jumped by 1.8%. This comes after a disappointing April jobs report. The economy added 559,000 jobs in May, which was higher than the estimated 671,000. Unemployment also decreased to 5.8% from 6.1%. Investors are optimistic about the recovery and the possibility of interest rates remaining low. The positive data is a welcome sign for the stock market.
