Amazon is increasing pay for U.S. fulfillment and transportation workers by at least $1.50 per hour to over $22 per hour, part of a $2.2 billion initiative to improve compensation and working conditions. Base wages for Amazon workers in fulfillment and transportation roles will exceed $22 per hour, reaching over $29 per hour in total compensation. The Amazon Labor Union is gaining momentum with support from the Teamsters Union. Amazon is preparing for the peak holiday season. Free Prime memberships will be available for employees in 2024.
