Binance founder released from custody after money laundering violation, fined $50 million

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao was released from a California correctional facility, serving a four-month sentence for violating U.S. money laundering laws. Prosecutors accused Binance of facilitating criminal activity and failing to report suspicious transactions to terrorist groups. The exchange agreed to a $4.32 billion penalty with Zhao paying a $50 million fine.
