Over the past year, the Morningstar US Market Index fell 0.06% and is up 21.99%. The top performing Europe-domiciled stock ETF was the iShares Core FTSE 100 UCITS ETF, gaining 0.85%, while the iShares Core MSCI EM IMI UCITS ETF lost 0.65%. The iShares Core S&P 500 UCITS ETF gained 0.08% and has risen 22.24% over the past year.

In the bond market, the Morningstar US Core Bond Index fell 0.87% last month and is up 3.37% over the past year. The global stock market gained 0.08% in August, while global bonds fell 0.01%. The iShares $ Treasury Bond 0-1yr UCITS ETF lost 1.76%, and the iShares Core € Corp Bond UCITS ETF gained 0.27%.

Among the largest Europe-domiciled active ETFs, the JPMorgan ETFs (Ireland) ICAV – Europe Research Enhanced Index Equity (ESG) UCITS ETF was the top performer, gaining 1.20%. The PIMCO ETFs PLC – US Dollar Short Maturity UCITS ETF was the bottom performer, losing 1.83%. Active ETFs are managed by portfolio managers and trade on an exchange.
