Nuggets, Avalanche launch streaming service Altitude+

Local fans of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche will have more ways to watch games this season. Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is partnering with Tegna to show 20 games each on local broadcasts, 9NEWS and My20. They are also launching a streaming service Altitude+ for $19.95/month. The NBA season starts Oct. 22. Altitude Sports will be available to more fans in Denver market. Steve Smith from Kroenke Sports & Entertainment says the deal will give fans a choice on how they watch games. Altitude Sports reached a settlement with Comcast in 2023 but the channel remains unavailable to customers. Regional sports networks face challenges as teams opt for direct deals with broadcasters and launch streaming services. The Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks have left Bally Sports and will offer games on streaming service Victory+. The Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans have struck deals with local broadcasters for all games this season. Many regional sports networks are offering streaming options to adapt to changing viewing habits. YES Network and MSG Networks are launching a streaming joint venture this fall. Regional sports networks are careful not to disrupt pay TV model to maintain contracts with distributors and support league fees.
