Tesla plans to introduce six-seat Model Y in China by late 2025 to compete

Tesla is planning to release a new six-seat version of its Model Y vehicle in China by the end of 2025 to refresh its top-selling electric vehicle amidst rising competition from local manufacturers.

To prepare for the increased production of Model Y, Tesla has asked its suppliers to ramp up production at its Shanghai factory, pending expansion approval on adjacent land.

With a 6% rise in Model 3 deliveries this year, Tesla aims to maintain its competitive edge in China by introducing the six-seater Model Y variant.
