Unilever is collaborating with its top 10 retail customers, such as Walmart, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and minimize waste in its supply chain. The company faced pressure from investors regarding its climate strategy two years ago and recently adjusted its sustainability goals. Unilever is working on sustainability agreements to cut supply chain emissions.
Unilever’s CEO, Hein Schumacher, highlighted the importance of collaborating on sustainability agreements with retailers like Walmart. Walmart aims to avoid a ‘gigaton’ of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 through partnerships with suppliers. Unilever also has a sustainability deal with A.S. Watson’s to create eco-friendly products. Climate-modelling is being used to reduce emissions in the supply chain.
