The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged six credit rating agencies with recordkeeping failures. The agencies include Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings, Fitch Ratings, HR Ratings de Mexico, A.M. Best Rating Services and Demotech. Combined civil penalties of over $49 million are to be paid by these agencies for violating recordkeeping provisions of federal securities laws.
