Volvo Cars is rolling out its new all-electric EX90 SUV from its South Carolina plant to dealers in the U.S. The vehicle is powered by NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, capable of over 250 trillion operations per second, providing advanced safety features and autonomous driving capabilities.

Volvo Cars plans to upgrade to the next-generation NVIDIA DRIVE Thor SoC, quadrupling processing power and improving energy efficiency sevenfold. This upgrade will enable safer advanced driver-assistance systems and self-driving features, enhancing in-vehicle experiences with generative AI technology.

Volvo Cars and Zenseact are investing in NVIDIA DGX systems for AI model training in the cloud, ensuring advanced safety features for future fleets. The systems offer data-center-level compute performance essential for efficient AI training, speeding up autonomous technology development and optimizing data annotation processes for quicker time to market.
