Major League Baseball drops most teams from Bally Sports networks, excluding only the Atlanta Braves. Diamond Sports is renegotiating contracts with 11 remaining teams on the broadcast to determine future involvement in MLB games. MLB regular season recently concluded, with broadcast rights primarily for regular-season games.

Regional sports networks have struggled as cord-cutting reduces pay-TV subscribers, impacting profitability. Diamond Sports faced bankruptcy with heavy debt after Sinclair acquired it from Disney in 2019. The company rejected contracts and some teams found new broadcast homes, raising concerns for the NBA and NHL seasons ahead.

While Diamond aims to exit bankruptcy protection, the possibility of winding down the business looms. The company promises to honor current contracts through the season’s end. Diamond is in discussions with MLB teams to plan for the future. The ongoing disagreements with MLB started before the bankruptcy filing, with disputes over streaming rights for all MLB teams.
