In early trading, Apple leads as the best performer in the Dow Jones, up 1.2% with a 16.5% gain year-to-date. Meanwhile, Caterpillar is the worst performer, down 2.4% but showing a 31.5% gain for the year.

Other movers include Dow, down 2.1%, and Honeywell International, up 0.8% for the day.
