Ryanair will have to revise down its passenger traffic estimates for next year due to expected aircraft delivery delays from Boeing, according to CEO Michael O’Leary. The budget airline was supposed to receive 20 deliveries by December but now expects them in January and February, affecting growth projections.

The capacity constraints in the sector are challenging as both Boeing and Airbus struggle to meet delivery goals amid supply chain issues and labour unrest. O’Leary, with 30 years in the industry, notes the extent of these constraints is unprecedented. Ryanair aims to avoid a repeat of this year’s overstaffing and cost penalties.

Regarding the Middle East conflict, Ryanair will follow cues from Europe’s aviation regulator EASA for safety decisions. O’Leary stated the airline will prioritize safety, regardless of opinions from pilots and unions. As a result, Ryanair has ceased operations to Tel Aviv in Israel, as well as Jordan’s Amman and Aqaba airports.
