Bitstamp tweeted about the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, suggesting that his current life may be more important than his true identity. This comes on the 16th anniversary of Satoshi releasing the Bitcoin whitepaper.

Recent controversy arose from an HBO movie naming Peter Todd as Satoshi. Other candidates like Adam Back and Samson Mow believe Satoshi’s identity will never be revealed. VC investor Anthony Pompliano thinks it’s better to leave it a mystery.

Bitcoin whitepaper turns 16 today, marking the release of the document that introduced Bitcoin to the world. Bitcoin has come a long way since then, now being valued at $72,000 and considered digital gold by Wall Street.

MicroStrategy, a major corporate Bitcoin holder, plans to raise $42 billion in the next few years to add more Bitcoin to its growing stash.
