Stocks fell due to geopolitical uncertainty and tensions in the Middle East

Stocks fell moderately on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrials dropping to a 2-week low. Tensions in the Middle East weighed on the markets after Israeli warplanes attacked Beirut. Energy stocks rallied as WTI crude oil jumped more than +5% to a 1-month high. Interest rates rose as 10-year T-note yields climbed to 3.844%. US weekly initial unemployment claims rose, while the Sep ISM services index rose to a 19-month high. Overseas markets were mixed. Earnings reports are expected from Apogee Enterprises Inc, Golden Matrix Group Inc, Park Aerospace Corp, and Village Super Market Inc on 10/4/2024.
