In the third quarter of 2024, the top-performing dividend-paying stocks included Bridgepoint BPT, St. James’s Place STJ, and Drax DRX, among others. These stocks had forward dividend yields of at least 1.5% and saw impressive gains over the past year. The Morningstar UK Dividend Yield Focus Index also showed strong performance, rising 6.6% over the past month and 16.9% over the past year.

Bridgepoint Group, an asset management firm, saw a 58.4% increase in the third quarter, with a forward dividend yield of 2.67%. St. James’s Place, another asset management firm, had a 35.4% rise in the third quarter and a 1.91% forward dividend yield. Drax Group, a renewable energy firm, gained 33.1% in the third quarter with a 3.77% forward dividend yield.

Keller Group, an engineering and construction company, rose 32.9% in the third quarter and had a 2.96% forward dividend yield. Just Group, a specialty insurance firm, gained 32.7% in the third quarter with a 1.58% forward dividend yield. WH Smith, a specialty retail firm, had a 29.8% increase in the third quarter and a 2.18% forward dividend yield.

Kingfisher, a home improvement retail company, rose by 29.4% in the third quarter with a 3.85% forward dividend yield. TI Fluid Systems, an auto parts firm, saw a 27.8% increase in the third quarter with a 3.58% forward dividend yield. Coats Group, a textile manufacturing firm, had a 26.8% gain in the third quarter and a 2.28% forward dividend yield. Centamin, a gold company, rose 23.0% in the third quarter and had a 2.23% forward dividend yield.

The Morningstar UK Index measures the performance of the UK’s broad regional markets and has gained 2.5% on the quarter and 13.2% on the year. The Morningstar UK Dividend Yield Focus Index, which tracks high-quality, dividend-paying stocks listed in the UK, has risen 6.6% over the past month and 16.9% over the past year.
