The NHTSA is investigating Tesla’s FSD system after collisions in reduced visibility conditions involving over 2.4 million vehicles, including Model S, X, 3, Y, and Cybertruck. Some collisions resulted in a pedestrian fatality and injury, prompting the probe into FSD’s ability to detect and respond to such conditions.

Elon Musk unveiled the Cybercab robotaxi concept car, aiming to produce it before 2027 for under $30,000. Tesla plans to have unsupervised FSD in Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in Texas and California next year. Currently, FSD is available in a supervised version, requiring a human driver at the wheel.
