A U.S. appeals court has halted approvals for Kinder Morgan’s 32-mile gas pipeline in Tennessee, following environmental group concerns. The project by Kinder Morgan’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline could transport 245,000 dekatherms per day to Tennessee Valley Authority. The court decision came after Appalachian Voices and Sierra Club raised concerns about the environmental impact of the pipeline’s construction. The court will hear further arguments in December. Kinder Morgan disagrees with the decision and is reviewing its options. Appalachian Voices and Sierra Club have not yet commented on the court’s decision.
