Australia stocks closed lower on Thursday, with losses in the energy and mining sectors dragging shares down by 0.04%. Top performers included St Barbara Ltd and Amcor PLC, while Mesoblast Ltd and Resolute Mining Ltd were among the worst performers. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones, with the VIX down 2.19%. Gold futures rose, while crude oil prices also saw modest gains. AUD/USD remained unchanged, while the US Dollar Index Futures fell slightly to 106.52.
