BlackRock is discussing a potential stake in Millennium Management, a $70 billion hedge fund founded by Israel Englander. The talks are in early stages and the outcome is uncertain. BlackRock, with $11.5 trillion in assets, has been focusing on acquisitions to expand its offerings in public and private markets.

In October, BlackRock completed a $12.5 billion deal for Global Infrastructure Partners, enhancing its infrastructure investments. The firm is also expected to finalize a $3.2 billion acquisition of Preqin, a private markets data provider. These moves are part of BlackRock’s strategy to become a comprehensive platform for investors.
