Brazil stocks closed higher on Friday, with gains in various sectors. The B3 gained 1.08%. Top performers included Minerva SA/Brazil, up 7.54%, Cosan SA Industria e Comercio, up 5.38%, and Ultrapar Participacoes SA, up 4.97%. However, Atacadao SA, Localiza Rent a Car SA, and Lwsa SA were among the worst performers.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange. Localiza Rent a Car SA and Lwsa SA hit 3-year lows. The CBOE Volatility Index rose 9.93% to 31.99.

Gold Futures for February delivery rose 0.34% to $2,673.79 per troy ounce. Crude oil for January delivery fell 0.84% to $68.14 a barrel. The USD/BRL exchange rate dropped 0.68% to 5.97, while EUR/BRL fell 0.45% to 6.32. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 105.79.
