Canada stocks closed higher on Friday, with the rising to a new all-time high, led by gains in the tech and energy sectors. Denison Mines Corp and South Bow Corp were top performers, while Brookfield Business Partners LP and Maple Leaf Foods Inc were among the worst performers.

Denison Mines Corp stock reached a 5-year high, rising 4.01% to 3.37. The CBOE Volatility Index was up 4.63% to 11.07. Gold futures rose 0.34% to $2,673.79, while crude oil for January delivery fell to $68.14 a barrel.

The Canadian dollar was steady against the USD and EUR, while the US Dollar Index Futures dropped 0.24% to 105.79. Overall, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with 642 companies gaining, 289 declining, and 92 remaining unchanged.
