Air China becomes the first customer for COMAC’s C929 widebody aircraft, aiming to compete with Airbus and Boeing models. Hainan Airlines orders 60 C919 narrowbody and 40 C909 regional jets, while Colorful Guizhou Airlines purchases 30 C909 planes. The C929 will have 280-400 seats and a range of 12,000 km. Russia left the China-Russia joint venture developing the aircraft, which was originally named CR929. The first fuselage section is expected to be delivered by September 2027, with a prototype set to be revealed soon.
