Verizon Communications led the Dow Jones Industrial Average, up 1.4% in early trading with a 12.1% gain year-to-date. On the flip side, NVIDIA was the worst performer, down 2.6% but still showing a 179.3% gain for the year. Nike dropped 1.9% while McDonald’s rose 0.9% on the day.
