Sony raised sales guidance for the full year after posting a strong quarter for its gaming business. Revenue was 2.97 trillion Japanese yen, slightly below expectations, while operating profit was 445.1 billion yen, up 73% and beating expectations. The tech giant revised its fiscal year 2025 revenue target to 12.7 trillion yen.
Sony’s game and network services division, including PlayStation, saw revenue of 1 trillion yen, up 11% year-over-year. The shift to digital purchases and PlayStation Plus subscription service helped offset lackluster hardware shipments.
