Liquidators file winding-up petition against China Evergrande unit, facing liquidation after debt default

Liquidators of China Evergrande filed a winding-up petition against Tianji Holding, a guarantor for offshore senior notes issued by Scenery Journey, a group member. Evergrande stated the petition is in the interest of creditors. The High Court of Hong Kong will hear the petition on Jan. 15, 2025. Evergrande, heavily indebted with over $300 billion, faced liquidation after a debt default.
