Warner Bros. Discovery has ended its pursuit to own a package of live NBA games in the U.S. for the 2025-26 season, settling legal disputes with the league. Disney, Comcast’s NBCUniversal, and Amazon Prime Video will distribute games for 11 years starting next season, valued at about $77 billion.
Warner Bros. Discovery and the NBA settled a legal dispute, ending Turner Sports’ 40-year relationship as an NBA game carrier in the U.S. TNT’s “Inside the NBA” will be licensed to Disney’s ESPN and ABC for premier games. ESPN has protections in the deal, and Warner Bros. Discovery will continue to produce the show.
The settlement grants Warner Bros. Discovery’s TNT Sports access to NBA highlights for 11 years. TNT’s “Inside the NBA” will continue with its current hosts on Disney platforms next year. ESPN may collaborate with the hosts, and the deal includes a partnership for other sports programs. Warner Bros. Discovery will also have live game rights in certain regions.
