The S&P 500 rose on Tuesday, led by Nvidia in the tech sector, despite concerns over Russia-Ukraine tensions. The Dow fell 0.3%, the Nasdaq gained 0.2%, and the S&P added 0.6%. Nvidia, the world’s most valuable listed company, gained over 2% ahead of its earnings report, reflecting strong demand for AI chips. Super Micro Computer also surged 29% after appointing a new auditor. In other news, Walmart raised its sales and profit forecast, while Lowe’s stock fell on soft guidance for 2024. Russian President Putin altered the nuclear strike threshold, warning of a potential nuclear response to conventional threats.
