In afternoon trading on Thursday, Technology & Communications stocks are up 1.0%, with stand-outs Epam Systems, Inc. (EPAM) and Super Micro Computer Inc (SMCI) showing gains of 14.4% and 11.3%. The Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) is up 1.4% on the day and 23.50% year-to-date. XLK holds approximately 1.9% of EPAM and SMCI.

The Services sector is the next best performing, higher by 0.4%, with Warner Bros Discovery Inc (WBD) and Meta Platforms Inc (META) notable for gains of 11.3% and 3.5%. The iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF (IYC) is up 1.3% in midday trading and 22.72% year-to-date. WBD makes up about 3.3% of IYC’s holdings.

S&P 500 components in various sectors show Technology & Communications up 1.0%, Services up 0.4%, Healthcare up 0.4%, Consumer Products up 0.2%, Utilities and Materials unchanged, while Industrial, Financial, and Energy sectors are down.
