TripAdvisor Q3 Earnings & Revenues Beat Estimates, Operating Costs Up

TripAdvisor (TRIP) reported third-quarter 2024 non-GAAP earnings of 50 cents per share, down 4% from the prior year but beating estimates by 13.64%. Revenues of $532 million were flat year over year, with growth in Viator and The Fork segment offsetting headwinds in legacy hotel meta offering.
Brand TripAdvisor’s revenues totaled $255 million, down 12%, while Viator’s revenues grew 10% to $270 million and TheFork’s revenues increased 17% to $49 million. Operating margin rose to 13.16%, but adjusted EBITDA margin contracted to 22.93% in the quarter.
TripAdvisor’s cash and cash equivalents were $1.11 billion as of Sept. 30, 2024, with long-term debt at $832 million. The company reported $44 million of negative cash from operations and negative free cash flow of $64 million in the quarter.
